Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Rednapp is lining up a summer bid to bring Sulley Muntari back to the Premier League-with Jermaine Jenas heading in the opposite direction.
Redknapp is a huge admirer of Muntari who he bought for Portsmouth and sold to Inter Milan last summer for £14m which represented a £7m profit in just over a year.
Inter boss Jose Mourinho may be willing to part with the 24-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Muntari this summer and also fancies Tottenham’s England midfielder Jenas.
Jenas would be allowed to leave by Redknapp as he looks to shake up his squad at White Hart Lane and the midfielder is no longer an automatic first choice and a move to Italy appeals.
Mourinho went public on his admiration for Jenas in January and now may be willing to use Muntari as bait to get his man in a player-plus-cash deal.
Muntari has been called a "terrific young talent" by Redknapp who has been told that he must sell before he can buy this summer.
Tottenham have a list of targets which include Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones, Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing and Charlton wonderkid Jonjo Shelvey.
But Redknapp is also looking to do business on Muntari and discreet enquiries have already been made.
David Bentley, Didier Zokora, Tom Huddlestone, Gareth Bale, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent could also be on their way in a major clear-out as Redknapp looks to rebuild.
