Harras Hodoud's Ghanaian defender William Mensah said that he was provoked to slap Ahli striker Flavio Amado because of the Angolan's long nails.
Following Hodoud's 1-0 home loss to Ahli on Monday, the pair was caught up in a spat where the centre-back was seen hitting Flavio.
"Flavio's nails were too long. He hit my nose hard in a collision during the game," Mensah told FilGoal.com.
"After the final whistle I went to ask him why he leaves them so long but he totally ignored me. I was really angered by his reaction and ended up slapping him."
Flavio scored the only goal of the game in Alexandria to send Ahli top of the table on goal difference ahead of Ismaili.
The Red Devils and the Dervishes are both tied on 60 points with one league round to go.
