Ronaldinho was left out of Brazil’s 23 man squad for next month’s Confederations Cup earlier tonight, as Dunga announced his team for the tournament.
The Milan superstar was snubbed as a result of his inconsistency over the course of the season, however despite this, he does not appear to be disappointed, if his most recent interview is anything to go by.
“I’m only thinking about the next match with Roma,” Ronaldinho coolly said, when questioned about his failure to make the Brazilian squad, according to Datasport.it.
“My character will always remain the same, and I will always want to play well, and play to win. Now I need to be happy, for the good of the team.”
The former Barcelona man went on to make reference to his lack of opportunities this season, as he has found himself spending a lot more time on the bench, as opposed to previous years.
“I did expect to play more, so I must say that it has been really difficult. Every player wants to play in all of the games.
“We have an important match this weekend that we must win, and next year, I want to do well with this club in the Champions League.”
Milan host Roma at the San Siro stadium this weekend, in what is set to be Paolo Maldini’s last ever game in front of his home fans, as his distinguished career will come to an end next weekend.
