Ghana’s U-20 side, Black Satellites will pitch their strength against their South African counterparts in an international friendly on Saturday, May 30.
The match, billed for the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra forms part of the team’s preparation towards the FIFA U-20 World Cup slated for Egypt in September.
Black Satellites coach, Sellas Tetteh told GNA Sports that the clash with the Amajita’s will serve as a good test for his team towards their preparation for the World Championship.
He said his team will however be dominated by the locally-based players currently in camp.
“We are going to select the team from the locally-based players in camp. Surely, this is a good test for our preparations as the South Africans are a strong side.
“We will also use the game to assess the players in camp before moving to the next step.”
Coach Tetteh also said that his team will shift attention to a four-nation tourney in Venezuela next month.
The Satellites, the reigning Africa U-20 champions have been housed in Group D alongside England, Uruguay and Uzbekistan for the September 24 to October 16 tourney.
The South Africans, expected in town on Wednesday, May 27, will fly to Uruguay after the Satellites friendly, where they will engage a South American side in two friendly matches.
Amajita, semi-finalists at the African Youth Championship in Rwanda last January will return to their base on June 11 to continue with their preparations.
The South Africans are paired alongside Honduras, Hungary and the United Arab Emirates for the global championship.
