Ghana starlet Abeiku Quansah made his French Ligue 1 debut for Nice on Saturday night in their 0-2 home defeat at the Municipal du Ray to Toulouse in the penultimate round of matches. The 18-year-old replaced captain Olivier Echouafni before the start of the second half and played in an unusual striking role.Quansah signed a professional contract late last year and has already been an unused substitute in seven league matches. He however played the entire duration of a League Cup match and was also a substitute in a French Cup match this term."I was not nervous at all. I knew I could play so I had my confidence intact even though I played as an attacker or the number 10 as they say in football and I am delighted with my performance," Quansah told Ghanasoccernet.com"My coach and players congratulated me for playing well upfront and I think it's positive for me ahead of next season and the upcoming Under-20 world cup."Quansah was a member of Ghana's team that won the African Youth Championship in Rwanda early this year.Nice are currently ninth on the league table and will host Le Havre next Saturday on the final match day.Source: ghanasoccernet
