About 20 police personnel Friday evening stormed the offices of the Youth and Sports Ministry in Accra.
Security sources told Myjoyonline that the presence of the officers was in connection with investigations into allegations of malfeasance against the Minister, Alhaji Mubarak Mutaka Mohammed.
The Minister has denied any wrong doing in a catalogue of accusations by the ministry's Principal Accountant, Adim Odoom.
Following the police presence at the ministry, rumours have been rife particularly in Accra, that Mr. Odoom and the Chief Director, Mr. Albert Kwadwo Ampong, were arrested in a swoop.
However Mr. Ampong late Friday evening told Myjoyonline on the phone that he was peacefully at home, except that he had been informed that a number of policemen had been to his office.
"I am peacefully at home, my brother," he affirmed.
Mr. Odoom however could not be reached because his phone was switched off.
