South African presenter, Simba Mhere has been reported dead following a car accident in Johannesburg in the early hours of Saturday, January 31, 2015.
According to reports, the Top Billing presenter, who was on his way to Oliver Thambo International Airport with plans to fly to Cape Town for a party, lost his life alongside a friend while his father who was with them, survived the car crash.
Further reports say the driver, which crashed into the TV presenter Simba Mhere’s car, killing him and the other passenger, has been charged with reckless and negligent driving and culpable homicide.
Mhere, who is originally from Zimbabwe, studied Accounting at the University of Johannesburg before going into presentation, working as a voice-over artiste and a master of ceremonies for events in South Africa including the Mrs South Africa pageant.
He joined the South Africa’s biggest lifestyle television programme, ‘Top Billing’ in 2010.
