Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Christopher Keith Rowley, has called on the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori, at Kyebi.
The Prime Minister is in Ghana to grace the country's independent anniversary celebration on Friday, March 6, 2020, in Kumasi.
Dr Christopher Keith Rowley was accompanied by his wife, Special Advisor on Agriculture and other state officials from the Caribbean.
Speaking at a durbar held in his honour at the forecourt of the Chief's palace in Kyebi, Dr Christopher Keith said his country will learn from Ghana's agricultural sector to develop the sector in his country.
He said although the Caribbeans have common plant species with Ghana, Ghana seems to have improved its agric sector over the period.
According to him, Trinidad and Tobago have lost several fine species over the past decades.
He touted Ghana for her agricultural evolution and measures it has put in place to ensure food security.
Dr Christopher hinted that his country will seek technical assistance from Ghana to maximise productivity and food security in the Caribbean.
He said his advisor on agriculture will be working together with Ghana to acquire some planting materials to restart agriculture in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Prime Minister said his country is ready to offer training to Ghanaians who wish to study in their highly esteemed industrial universities.
He said the relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Ghana dates back to Ghana's pre-independence era.
Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin commended the Caribbeans for making education free in their countries.

"Mr Prime Minister, indeed, your country leads in providing free and quality education, made possible because of your investment choices," said Osagyefo.
He said Ghana is emulating the free Education strategy of Trinidad and Tobago.
Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin called on African leaders to come together and fight poverty in Africa.
The Osagyefo urged Ghana and Trinidad and Tobago to continue investing the revenues from their mineral resources in improving the quality of life of the people, through education, health and infrastructure.
The Okyenhene conferred on the Prime Minister an honorary stool Okyeman Abodesahene with the stool name Barima Kwadwo Afriyie.
