Presenting the items on behalf of Mr Amewu to the Hohoe Municipal Hospital, the Volta Regional Secretary of the NPP, Joseph Homenya, lauded the facility on its efforts to curb the spread of the virus.

“We are very grateful for the screening centre you set up at the entrance and strategic positioning of Veronica buckets for handwashing.”

He added that the Energy Minister is making efforts to provide more including personal protective equipment to ensure the safety of the health workers, who are the front-liners in the coronavirus pandemic fight.

The Medical Superintendent of the Hohoe Municipal Hospital, Dr Pius Mensah, appreciated the gesture and appealed for non-contact infrared thermometer guns, N95 respirators and medical logistics to furnish the coronavirus case management centre.

“Apart from the refurbishment of the physical infrastructure, we also need medical logistics to treat the patient should we get a coronavirus case”, he explained.

The Chairman of the Hohoe Commercial Motor Riders Association, Nathaniel Kove, received the items on behalf of the 15 branches.

He thanked Mr Amewu for taking such an initiative to safeguard their health during this coronavirus pandemic era.

“We are very grateful, but we are appealing to the Minister [Mr Amewu] that since we are carrying passengers, we will be happy if we can get weekly supplies of the sanitisers”, he said.
