The incumbent Manhyia North Member of Parliament, Collins Amankwah has been defeated by his main contender with five votes difference.
Announcing the results, the Electoral Commission rejected three out of the 554 votes.
And with 551 valid votes, the MP had 273 votes whereas the only contender, Akwasi Konadu secured 278 votes.
Speaking to Joy News’ Mahmud Mohammed-Nurudeen, Mr Konadu expressed profound gratitude to delegate for voting for him.
He added, “people of the constituency were asking for change, and the delegates have given the change they were asking for.
"Its been long awaited, so you can see the jubilation that they asked for.”
