National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party Freddie Blay says the loss of over 40 incumbent Members of Parliament in the just ended Parliamentary Primaries would not have dire consequences for the party in the upcoming December polls.
According to Mr. Blay, although the defeats are regrettable, the delegates chose candidates with the requisite acumen to advance the party’s fortunes.
"We should have faith in the decision of the delegates. We must have confidence because the electorates are always right. At the heart of democracy is contest and the electorates will always have the last say. I wouldn't have any quarrel with the decisions they have taken."
41 sitting NPP Members of Parliament who stood for elections to be retained as the party’s parliamentary candidates going into the 2020 elections lost their seats.

Speaking to JoyNews Kwesi Parker-Wilson, Mr. Blay argued that unity will prevail.
"I believe this election will rather ginger the party and bring new blood to bring the vigor we need for the campaign. In fact some of the MPs immediately they lost the election, expressed their desire to back those who defeated them and that is good sportsmanship. That is the spirit we need
