Star Assurance Company Limited has appointed Boatemaa Barfour-Awuah as its news Chief Executive Officer.
The new CEO will champion the development and enhancement of the company’s strategic plan for achieving results.
She is recognised as seasoned insurance professional with a heightened ability to drive strategic initiatives in areas of business growth, business digitisation and organisational effectiveness.
Boatemaa Barfour-Awuah began her career in the insurance industry at a very early age and rose diligently through the ranks, transitioning from the legal unit, underwriting, accounts, business development and broker relations unit to becoming the Executive Director for Finance and Administration and thereafter Executive Director for Business Intelligence until her appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Star Assurance.

She has a keen interest in business intelligence and is currently spearheading the digital transformation of the company through the introduction of key technologies, applications and practices for the collection, analysis, and presentation of business information.
Boatemaa Barfour-Awuah is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). She holds an MSc. in Finance & Accounting as well as an MSc in Management, both from the University of Southampton (UK).
She has a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Insurance Studies from the Malta International Training Institute (MITC). She also holds a BA. in History & Politics from the University of Leicester, UK.
The new CEO is an alumnus of Ghana International School in Accra, where she obtained both her ordinary and advanced level certificates.
Respected as a credible voice in decision making and strategy development, Boatemaa Barfour-Awuah serves as a Director on various company boards.
