Hearts of Oak coach Nii Noi Thompson says he’s unfazed by his team’s one-all draw with Real Tamale United at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Sunday in their match day 24 fixture.
Nii Thompson was installed last Friday to improve on the team’s decline in the ongoing Glo Premier League.
He replaces former Serbian coach Kosta Papic who was axed following mounting pressure on the team’s management to change their coach.
Although the Phobians could have emerged victors in the encounter, Charles Taylor’s 26th minute goal was canceled before half-time.
Nii Thompson told Joy Sports, he is unperturbed by the developments.
“I’m not disappointed with the performance…our winning the league is on course, we’re still on course; we’ll work hard and then polish the rough edges,” he told Joy Sports.
Asante Kotoko moved to third place after a 1-0 win over Wa All Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Liberty beat Heart of Lions 1-0 in Kpando.
Nii Noi Thompson has called on the teeming supporters of the club to be patient and rally behind the team to win the six remaining matches in the Glo Premier League.
He told Joy Sports the team has more individualistic approach to games than a collective one.
“I’m not disappointed with the performance,” he told Joy Sport’s Tony Bebli.
But the supporters of the club believe the troubles of the club are basically not from the coach but the team manager Sabahn Quaye who has worked under ten different coaches but is still at post.
“Allow coach to do his work; Papic has to find his way, Sabahn also has to find his way,” a supporter intimated.
Some fans want a new board to be appointed to manage the team’s affairs, citing the team's recent unsatisfactory performance.
Hearts of Oak midfielder Hamza Mohammed has told Joy Sports the team is really going rough times.
