Private legal practitioner, Samson Lardy Anyenini says he was appalled by the attitude of MPs during the approval of Akufo-Addo's ministerial appointees.
"At a point I had to switch off my television set," he said on JoyFM’s Super Morning Show, Thursday.
The JoyNews Newsfile host’s comment follows a night of rigorous debate on whether or not to approve some appointees.
Information Minister-designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah; Fisheries Minister-designate, Mavis Hawa Koomson and Agric Minister-designate, Dr Afriyie Akoto had their appointments initially opposed by some members of the opposition NDC.
The legislators spent several hours from Wednesday, March 3, 2021, into the dawn of Thursday debating the report of Parliament’s Appointments Committee after which 10 of the appointees were approved by consensus.
The other three were eventually approved by a plenary secret ballot.
However, Mr Anyenini argues that the proceedings in the House "was a waste of time" and a waste of state funds.
“It was as if there was no point for the exercise," he said.
He further stated that at a point the MPs, especially those on the majority side were defending appointees "who had been lying through their teeth and have been caught at the Appointments Committee."
"And I think there's very little inspiration [from these MPs] for the young [generation] that is coming up," he added.
