Government will soon switch off fully the analogue transmission to allow for the full take-off of the Central Digital Transmission Company which will manage the country’s digital terrestrial transmission.
This follows the handing over of the office space at Kanda in Accra from K-NET to the Central Digital Transmission Company Limited (CDTCL) on behalf of government.
Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful in a statement indicated that Digital Transmission has received yet another major boost.
"This is another step to the migration from analogue to digital".
She explained that the CDTCL is a Ghanaian entity which will operate independently.
"The Digital Migration policy approved by cabinet mandates the country to set up a company to manage the platform".

She indicated that currently analogue and digital signals were running simultaneously, adding, "all that was left to be done now was to switch off the analogue transmissions which will be done soon".
She therefore urged radio and television companies to prepare to pay for their own digital transmission when the migration is fully completed.
General Manager, Human Resources, K-NET, Oscar Nchor, lauded the Communications and Digitalisation Minister for her support towards Ghana's digital agenda.
