The Ningo-Prampram MP, Sam George, has denied claims that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is propagating the '#FixTheCountry' campaign.
His comment comes as a response to allegations by Freddie Blay, the National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), that the agenda was inspired by the NDC.
But speaking to Benjamin Akakpo on JoyNews' AM Show Thursday, the NDC MP said he is shocked by Mr Blay’s comment.
“I will be surprised that Freddie Blay will make such a comment, however, people judge others by the standards that they hold themselves to.
"It’s now clear to us that the end “dumsor” move that we saw was NPP sponsored. The “Let My Vote Count” move that we saw was also sponsored by the NPP.
“It’s clear that based on the modus operandi of the NPP, today Freddie Blay thinks that this is an NDC creation. I can state without equivocation that the NDC has absolutely no hand in the #FixTheCountry campaign,” Sam George stated.
The Deputy Ranking Member on Parliament’s Communications Committee took a jibe at a section of Ghanaians who are against the '#FixTheCountry' campaign.
According to him, although anyone has the right to oppose the campaign, it must be acknowledged that the government has failed to fulfil its promise to relieve Ghanaians of hardship.
“And for me if you have a problem with the #FixTheCountry, your citizenship must be revoked,” he emphasised.
