Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, has said there is a possibility that two persons mentioned by the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator in connection to his attack are linked to the Delta Force.
DCOP Ayensu Opare Addo (Rtd) had said some members of the group he identified as part of the National Security apparatus, attempted to forcefully throw him out of his office on grounds that his appointment had been terminated.
Contributing to a discussion on JoyNews Saturday, Kweku Baako said he suspects, based on his checks, that two persons among those who are said to have attacked the retired police officer could indeed be associated with the Delta Force.
He explained that DCOP Opare Addo mentioned three names adding that “Mohammed Seidu, then I think it rings a bell if you go to Delta Force background.”
“Then some Mustapha Mohammed, known as Staff, I suspect he too has Delta Force connection, so you see there’s no doubt that Delta Force element has been recruited, they are the people you call tabletop operatives,” he said on NewsFile.
Meanwhile, DCOP Opare Addo has vowed to take appropriate action against his assailants.
Mr Kweku Baako, therefore, opined that the said action can only be directed to the National Security and not the Delta Force.
He said that is because the retired police officer never mentioned the Delta Force in his statements to the police as part of his official statement to the police.
“If he is going to sue, he can’t sue the Delta Force, he cannot. He has to sue the National Security and the operatives who came there [because] there’s not a word of Delta Force in his statement.”
He further noted that although it may be improper, “all the administrations that have come in the fourth republic have recruited and employed such person.”
“They’re on a tabletop, their names are not captured even on the payroll of the National Security, that’s why they call them tabletop, they go and take their money month ending and they go,” he added.
He said most of them are party fanatics or foot-soldiers, awaiting National Security recruitment.
