Ace music producer, Kwame Micky, has accused Ghanaian videographer Abraham Ohene Djan of squandering royalties belonging to some Ghanaian musicians.
According to him, some royalties paid to the award-winning music video producer on behalf of some musicians by YouTube were not given to them.
Kwame Micky was part of panellists who discussed the re-emergence of the Ghana Association of Phonographic Industry (GAPI), which is meant for music producers in Ghana, on the Tete-a-Tete Show on Asempa FM.
He alleged that YouTube tasked Ohene Djan to compile some Ghanaian songs for them and subsequently paid royalties to him, but he failed to pay them to the artists.
He further alleged that Abraham Ohene Djan and Panji Anoff kept vital information that could benefit the industry for their selfish gains.
He added that some of the songs he produced, including from veteran artists like Dr Paa Bobo, were part of the list, but royalties were not paid after Ohene Djan received them on behalf of the selected artists.
However, when the production team reached out to the CEO of OM Studios, Abraham Ohene Djan, he denied the allegations and described them as unfounded.
He opined that he paid all the artists whose works were selected and that he does not understand the basis of Kwame Micky's claims.
