The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is on the verge of wrapping up a deal to play Japan and Angola in friendlies later this year.
The Black Stars will play Japan in the Dutch city of Utrecht on 9 September if the GFA agrees to the terms offered by the Asians.
The game will be played three days after Ghana play Sudan in Group D of the World Cup qualifiers.
The West African country can qualify for the tournament in South Africa if they beat the Nile Crocodiles and Benin draw with Mali.
The game will serve as the right preparation for Ghana as Japan have already qualified for the World Cup in South Africa.
The Black Stars have also been penciled down for a friendly against 2010 Africa Cup of Nations Angola in November.
The GFA is expected to accept the invitation to play the game in Luanda to inaugurate the new stadium in the capital ahead of their January 2010 hosting of the tournament.
Coach Milovan Rajevac is also expected to use the matches to see new Black Star players.
