Andrews Samini, Head Coach of Ghana’s top musicians team, has said that his team would avenge the 2-6 defeat they suffered at the hands of the Ghanaian foreign-based players in their next charity match to be played when the two teams meet in a similar match at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra on Saturday, June 27.
The earlier match was honoured at the El-Wak Stadium mid last year, and Samini who spoke to GNA Sports in Accra on Thursday said adequate preparations have so far been made towards the epic showdown.
Samini said they had stepped up their preparations towards the match and that with the inclusion of new sensation, Prince Derrick Osei, a student of Galaxy International School who was brought from Europe purposely for the match, there is no way that victory would elude them.
Derrick Osei, a former player of Division Two side, African United who leaves for Chelsea and Real Madrid for trials soon after the match, won Gold Medal for Ghana in an International ICT competition held in USA by the Ministry of Education of Geneva.
He said the musicians lost 2-4 to Dansoman Old Stars on Tuesday which formed part of their preparations and that the team would continue playing friendly matches to put the players in good shape before the Saturday event.
Players expected to feature for the musicians would include Kwabena Kwabena, Lord Kenya, Tiny, Samini, Castro and Praye.
‘Sports Callers Association of Ghana’ would also take on Amputees in a curtain-raiser match.
There would be public lectures on the dangers of malaria, Hepatitis ‘B’ and other diseases on that day.
The event, which is an initiative of Gold Stars Sports, is aimed at raising funds to support the needy in the society.
It is being co-sponsored by UT Financial Services, UT Bank Limited, Lucozade Sport and Vita Milk.
