A Ghanaian doctor practising in the United States of America has gained the admiration of many people for his heroic delivery of a baby in a United Airlines flight on Sunday, January 30, 2022.
The flight, which was en route to Washington in the United States from Ghana, was 34,000ft above sea level when the baby due for late February was delivered.
In a video posted by broadcast journalist, Nancy Adobea indicated that the pregnant woman needed to be attended to urgently and the doctor, whose name has been given as Dr. Ansah-Addo, rushed to the rescue of the mother.
Passengers who were onboard the United Flight UA 977 were elated and full of praise for the safe delivery of the baby by Dr. Ansah-Addo and other health practitioners who helped in the process.

His intervention stood out for social media users who commended the doctor and the crew for that timely intervention.
“Dr. Ansah-Addo a Ghanaian practicing in the USA made himself available when the pilot called for assistance of medical personnel on board. With assistance from the whole United crew, a bouncy baby boy was delivered 2hours to landing,” Nancy recounted.

The baby and his mother are currently under medical care.
The flight was met on arrival by paramedics upon landing at the Washington Dulles International Airport, who provided more assured care for the mother and the baby.
