The Former Member of Parliament for Mampong Constituency in the Ashanti Region and an aspiring flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Addai-Nimoh has mentioned that breaking the eight is possible but it is dependent on three conditions.
Launching his campaign on Wednesday, he indicated that “We want to be well positioned to gain the trust of voters in the next national elections, as a highly motivated and well organized team, we believe that we have what it takes to break the eight”
“Yes it is indeed possible, but this is contingent upon three main conditions which we need to satisfy to break the eight”, he said.
The three conditions he gave are:
Internal unity within our party
Mr. Addai-Nimoh explained that this initiative will be done by making members feel proud of the party which will eventually maximize their strength for the political task ahead in 2024.
“To win the trust of Ghanaians, every member of the party is encouraged to foster unity”, he stated.
Improve performance of the current NPP-led government
According to Mr. Addai-Nimoh, the government’s performance is the main deciding factor in the minds and hearts of Ghanaian voters, thus would have a huge impact on the outcome of elections.
“I’ll therefore strongly encourage His Excellency Akufo-Addo-led administration to work relentlessly to address the most pressing socio-economic challenges that are now facing our country” the flagbearer aspirant mentioned.
NPP delegates assess each aspirant before presidential candidate is chosen
He explained that members should weigh their options and choose a relentless person and a unifier that is competent enough and is without blemish to lead the party.
Mr. Addai-Nimoh added that the party needs a new face that will provide hope and re-energize the grassroots to break the eight and urged all members to share in his dreams and make it a reality.
