Actor turned politician, Fred Nuamah suspects he is being hindered from filing to contest for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries.
Nuamah picked forms to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat on the ticket of opposition NDC, but in a press statement, he says for about three days he has been unable to complete the filing process electronically as well as make payments for the filing fees as the party requests.
He stated that he has already completed all other necessary steps including securing the needed endorsement from constituents.
“All efforts have proven futile after my engagement with the relevant personnel behind the party’s electronic platform. I have found this to be another Machiavellian tactic to prevent me from successfully filing my nomination,” Mr Nuamah wrote.
He added that he has petitioned the appropriate stakeholders hoping they resolve the issue before deadline.
“For the meantime, I have presented my manual requirements to the constituency election directorate to signify my submission while I await the online rectification.”

Mr Nuamah is filing to contest constituency slot along with his colleague and friend, John Dumelo.
The two who have come across to many as great pals for the past weeks have been in the news after Mr Nuamah announced his intentions to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat.
He was accused of stealing Mr Dumelo’s spot amidst calls for him to step down.
Mr Nuamah has, however, stated he is willing to engage his friend, Mr Dumelo but will not in any way step down for him in the race.
He assured that he will not let politics ruin the relationship he has built with colleague John Dumelo despite their recent fallout.
