Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has announced plans to provide free Ghana-made cocoa drinks to public basic school pupils in his constituency.
In a statement, the MP said the initiative will start on March 2 and will benefit pupils from Class One to Class Four.
According to him, the programme aims to support the nutritional needs of schoolchildren while promoting locally made products.
“From 2nd March 2026, I will be providing free Ghana-made cocoa drinks to all public basic pupils from Class 1 to 4 in my beloved Ayawaso West Constituency,” he stated.
He added that the initiative has multiple benefits: boosting local industry by sourcing exclusively Ghana-made products to support cocoa farmers and local manufacturers, enhancing school attendance by providing nutritious incentives, and fostering national pride by helping children appreciate Ghana’s cocoa heritage.
“This programme is a testament to our belief that a healthy child is a teachable child,” the statement concluded.
