Ghana's Rashid Alhassan has grabbed a bronze medal in Judo at the Swedish Open Championship under the category -81kg (10 Judokas).
Alhassan defeated Jakob from Scotland by the ippon during the Golden Score Time in the two-day event which ended on May 19.
The competition, which was participated by 12 countries, serves as a preparation for the upcoming European Judo championship to be staged in Austria on May 25.
Alhamdulillah [Praise be to Allah], That was an awesome feeling. Nothing feels better than you working hard just to make your country, Family and team mates proud.," He told JoySports.
"I can’t believe it till now but until my mission is accomplished I have nothing to celebrate on. More win, more medals InshaAllah [if Allah wills]."
Alhassan is based in Sweden with keen interest to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
