Chief Executive Officer of Zaafi Arts (Ghana) Productions, Miss Rita Ekua Richardson, has called on students of senior high schools in the Ho West District to ensure that rivers and other water bodies used for domestic purposes in their local communities are kept clean and managed properly.
She gave the advice during an environmental preservation programme held at the Tsito Awudome Senior High School.
She noted that rivers were important ecological elements that human beings could not survive without.
The event dubbed 'Global Water Dances' was organised by Zaafi Arts (Ghana) Productions and sponsored by Tanzer Ohne Grenzen, Germany.

It was aimed at creating the platform for students in second cycle institutions to learn how to preserve and promote the preservation of water systems in the environment through theatre play performance.
According to her, there is the need to find ways to mitigate all negative practices that are destroying rivers.
She mentioned that rivers provide habitat for aquatic life which needs to be preserved by maintaining vegetation around water bodies.
She indicated that due to the fact that the human species will not survive without water, it is important to inculcate environmental consciousness in students.
Senior House Master of the school, Mr Godsway Afeawohis lauded the idea to inculcate the consciousness of environmental issues in the students.
He urged the students to take the Green Ghana project seriously
