Christian men of the Global Evangelical Church have been urged to live holy lives worth emulating.
The Moderator of the Evangelical Church, Rt. Reverend Prosper Samuel Dzomeku, gave the advice in his sermon during the thanksgiving ceremony of the International Men's Ministry Convention held in Wumenu in the Agortime Ziope District of the Volta Region.
Rt. Rev. Prosper Samuel Dzomeku said holiness fostered “intimacy with God and builds spiritual strength and stability" hence the need for men to lead by example by living holy lives like Christ Jesus did, adding that it helps Christians to be useful and effective in the vineyard of the Lord.
Rt. Rev. Prosper Samuel Dzomeku who used Job in the Bible as an example noted that Job was able to live a holy and prayerful life pleasing to the Lord and also to man.
“Job led an exemplary holy life and encouraged the community and his family to do same."
He noted that Job was a righteous man who lived a holy life and God rewarded him for that following the temptations from Satan.
Rt. Rev. Prosper Samuel Dzomeku therefore, encouraged Christians especially men in the Evangelical Church of Ghana to see sufferings and challenges as part of life and that God at the appointed time would turn their sorrow to happiness if they remained holy.
He noted that Jesus Christ was subjected to inhuman treatment because he spoke the truth and challenged Christians to stand firm and speak the truth at all times.
The National Coordinator of the church, Rev. Gilbert Gbortsu, also highlighted on the commitment of the men's ministry towards the development of the Evangelical Church of Ghana and the nation at large.
Rev Gilbert Gbortsu noted that the focus on the men’s ministry of the Global Evangelical Church is about mobilizing and equipping men to be efficient in their God-given responsibilities in the church, homes and the community at large.
“God is very intentional in putting men on top of his agenda for creation and so men must be up to the task at every point in time for the fulfilment of God's glory,” Rev Gborsu said.
Rev Gilbert Gbortsu noted that the Kingdom of the God is in dire need of the right kind of men who will boldly take their rightful positions in the church, home and communities for the fulfilment of God's agenda.
Rev Gbortsu also announced intended water projects in the various communities of the church across the country especially in underserved areas.
The Volta Regional Minister who is also a member of the church appealed to the congregation to always pray for the success of the NPP-led administration.
The Conversation was on the theme “Christian men as agents of holiness 1 Peter 1; 14-16."
