They stunned their competitors and threw the crowd into a frenzy in a masterful display of wits and speed.
Motivated by their motto “Primus Inter pares”, the pacesetters of St. Louis SHS are entering the one-eighth stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz as the top scorer at the preliminary stage by far.
In an all Catholic school derby, the girls from Louisville outclassed Ola Girls-Kenyasi and St. Joseph’s SHS by a 24-point margin.
The first round appeared to be a nip-and-tuck contest between the girls from OLA-Kenyasi and St. Louis SHS.
But the Slopsans seemed to have dominance over the ringers, whisking away most questions at the second round to extend their lead.
They will however not rest on their oars but stay fixated on their target of completing the first hurdle with a resounding victory.
The girls who spoke with Emmanuel Bright Quaicoe are convinced of having a formidable team to clinch the title as they caution their contenders not to underestimate them.
At the end of the contest, St. Louis SHS secured their one-eighth slot with 52 points.
Ola Girls-Kenyasi who tried catching up only managed 28 points while the boys of St. Joseph’s SHS trailed them with 18 points
St. Louis SHS qualified to the national tournament as one of the schools with the highest points.
The Oduom-based school garnered 65 points at the regional qualification stage of the competition.
Given the impressive performance thus far, many people are in high anticipation of the ladies becoming the first all-girls school to win the national trophy.
