President Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaians to leave a positive lasting impression on the thousands of foreigners expected to troop into the country this December.
Ghana has become a hotspot for travellers across the globe in December. This has been heightened by the government's introduction of the December in GH programme intended to market the country as the place to be throughout the month.
According to President Akufo-Addo, Ghanaians should endeavour to “exhibit at all times the proverbial Ghanaian hospitality for which we are famed.”
This, he believes, will “ensure that our country's tourism potential is enhanced for the benefit of our nation's socio-economic and cultural growth.”

He said this in a Christmas Day broadcast, where he urged Ghanaians to let the guiding principles of Christianity – charity, faith, humility, love and reconciliation – lead them throughout the festive season and beyond.
“Let us all celebrate the seasons safely and responsibly and remember to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Let each one of us do our bit to help feed those who are hungry and offer comfort to those in need."
“Let us take the time to gather, love, listen and learn from each other and to remember that with the help of God, we can overcome any challenge and achieve any future of which we can dream,” he added.
The President on behalf of his government and family wished Ghanaians a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
“On behalf of the government, my wife Rebecca, the first lady, my daughters, grandchildren and family, I extend the warmest of greetings of the seasons and best wishes to all Ghanaians for a happy, prosperous New Year. May God bless us all in our homeland Ghana and make her great and strong,” he said.
