Pomo, a leading tomato mix brand in Ghana mainly visible in the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and all the Northern regions, supported Chef Faila on her Guinness World Record journey to success.
Chef Faila, who ended her cooking marathon at 227 hours beating the current record that stand at 119 hours held by Alan Fisher, achieved her success backed by her supportive community and Ghanaians at large.
The Pomo brand’s approach to supporting Chef Faila was a three-pronged scheme that yielded amazing success for Chef Faila.

The Chef
The first part of the support was directed at Chef Faila and ensuring that she had enough resources to carry her to her now 227-hour mark. This support came with financial support as she set up her team and acquired the needed materials for her quest. She also received a sufficient quantity of Pomo Tomato Mix which she used to prepare all her tomato-based meals.
The Recipes
While this record-breaking attempt was as much a celebration of Chef Faila, it was also a celebration of our local dishes and the platforming of these dishes in now-global conversations. This meant that besides the cash donation, the Pomo brand team also supplied her with products with which she used to prepare her now famous cook-a-thon recipes which included Ghana Jollof, Plantain Lasagna, Tuo Zaafi, Fufu with Goat light soup among others.

The Supporters
Each day, hundreds of people showed up to provide Chef Faila with the much-needed support to keep her in good spirits as she soldiered on to a Guinness World Record attempt. Pomo served hot meals to these supporters who had thronged the Modern City Hotel to support her.
Pomo also set up Experience Zones where the audience received free product samples as they engaged in various games and activities. This reinforced, Pomo’s commitment to get everyone to taste the love and also keep Chef Faila in good spirits to achieve her goal.

“It was very important to us to put in significant effort to support Chef Faila’s Cook-A-Thon attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record and make Ghana proud. The varied support provided by Pomo was a great way to empower Chef Faila and the audience to “Taste the Love”, which is Pomo’s key brand message,” the General Manager of GBfoods Ghana, Mr. David Afflu said in an interview.
Chef Faila is currently pending official recognition from the Guinness World Record formalizing the status of her record.
GBFoods is a multinational company with headquarters in Spain and a presence in several countries in Africa and Europe. In Ghana, GBFoods continues to lead in the Tomato Mix category with its brands Gino, Pomo and Brisk Farm.
