The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and his wife, Olori Atuwatse III are set to host world leaders and visionaries at the Elevate Africa Global Leaders for Transformative Dialogue from the 10th to 11th of September 2024.
The Dialogue scheduled to be held in Abuja, Nigeria is aimed at driving positive change in the African continent and charting a new narrative among global impact makers.
A statement issued by the Royal Couple states that the initiative under the umbrella of 'Elevate Africa' was designed to showcase Africa's potential and form a synergy to lead the conversation on the development of the continent.
The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III expressed optimism that the platform will empower the next generation of African leaders, adding that it aligns with the vision of fostering innovation and sustainable solutions that resonate beyond Africa's borders.
"Moreover, the Elevate Africa Fellowship will focus on promoting global collaboration and leadership development, essential for Africa’s integration into the global economy. As the world watches, this convening promises to redefine Africa’s narrative, emphasizing the continent’s resilience, creativity, and potential for growth”, he said.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sierra Leone’s Rokel Commercial Bank, Dr Walton Ekundayo Gilpin, is slated to share insights on financial empowerment in Africa among others, at the event, among others.
The event will also feature Sierra Leone's Deputy Minister for Mines and Mineral Resources, Umaru Napoleon Koroma who will lead a discussion on sustainable mining practices, which is a critical issue for the continent's future.
A member of the Georgia House of Representatives, USA, Kim Schofield will explore the intersections of policy and leadership, underscoring the global influence of African Diaspora Leaders and other critical issues affecting Africa's growth trajectory.
A Senior Editor at CNN Africa, Stephanie Busari will moderate the dialogue, guiding the discussions to ensure it is both insightful and impactful to participants.
On mental health and resilience, the Founder of Mind Hub Directory, Australia, Liza Pavlakis, will share her expertise to challenge existing perceptions and inspire a reimagined future for Africa.
Prominent voices to attend the Elevate Africa Global Leaders for Transformative Dialogue are Mayor Jaylen Smith of Arkansas, USA, the former Vice President of Liberia, Her Excellency, Jewel Taylor, and Mayor of Entebbe, Lord Fabrice Brad Rulinda.
Others are Managing Director of Paralex Bank, Nigeria, Femi Bakre, Vice President of the Senate, Ivory Coast, Senator Fanny Chantal Moussokoura, and Executive Producer at the BBC Lalita Taylor, and the former President of Mauritius, Her Excellency Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, among others.
