Ghanaian youngster, Ato Ampah, made his senior Chelsea debut in their UEFA Conference League game against Astana on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
The 18-year-old, who was born in Accra, replaced Pedro Neto at half-time in a 3-1 away win against the Kazakhstani club.
The winger is described as a very quick and dynamic attacking talent who can play on either wing.
Ampah was signed as an U11 player from grassroots football and featured for the Chelsea youth team in the 2021/22 season as a wing-back.
He continued his development in the 2022/23 season, where he again played for the U18s.
Ampah's progress in the 2023/24 season was obstructed by an injury, but he rebounded strongly and scored eight goals. He was instrumental in helping Chelsea win the U18 Premier League Southern Section.
Ampah made a strong start to the 2024/25 season, scoring in the opening Premier League 2 fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at Kingsmeadow for the U21s team.
