A land-related disagreement at Achiase, near Aboso in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality of the Western Region, has ended in tragedy following the alleged stabbing death of a resident, Augustine Boah.
Boah is said to have sustained fatal injuries after he was allegedly attacked with a pair of scissors by a 24-year-old man, Kofi Yena, popularly known as “Pogba”.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday, August 20, 2026, has reportedly heightened tensions between the families of the two men, with the dispute believed to have been linked to a piece of land in the community.
According to accounts emerging from the area, the disagreement had been brewing for some time.
The latest confrontation was reportedly triggered by an earlier warning from Yena to the deceased’s son over the use of a route behind his family’s house with his tricycle.
The issue allegedly resurfaced on Thursday when Boah and Yena confronted each other, leading to a physical altercation.
During the confrontation, Yena is alleged to have used a pair of scissors to attack Boah, leaving him with injuries that subsequently proved fatal.
The circumstances surrounding the confrontation and what immediately preceded the alleged stabbing remain subject to police investigation.
Following the incident, Yena was arrested and taken into police custody as the police commenced investigations into the death.
Meanwhile, the body of Boah has been deposited at the morgue of the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital pending further procedures.
