Ghana’s wheelchair tennis men’s team has secured a bronze medal at the 2025 ITF BNP Paribas World Team Cup Africa Qualifiers after defeating Kenya 3-0 in the final match in Rabat, Morocco.
The team, which was made up of Bernard Yawson and Daniel Laryea and led by official Kwabena Afriyie-Siaw, delivered an impressive performance throughout the tournament in Rabat.
Morocco claimed the gold medal, while Egypt took silver.

At the closing ceremony, Ghana’s Ambassador to Morocco, H.E. Mrs Charity Gbedawo, joined the team to celebrate their achievement. She praised their dedication, stating that they had made both Ghana and themselves proud.
The team expressed gratitude to the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) wheelchair tennis committee, which supported them through a fundraising effort involving donors from the Volta Region and Donewell Insurance.
They also acknowledged the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for providing a travel grant and thanked the GTF Board for their continued support.
The result marks an important milestone for Ghanaian wheelchair tennis, as the team continues to establish itself on the African stage.
