Ghanaian culinary enthusiast, Chef Abbys, is set to commemorate the 2025 World Food Day in October with a street food distribution initiative dubbed ‘Big Street Feast.’
Slated for Thursday, 16th October, the major streets of Accra will come alive with flavour, joy, and community spirit with the historic food-sharing celebration.
The event is expected to bring together food trucks and food stands at vantage points across the city, ensuring that over 15,000 people can enjoy a hearty meal, no matter where they are. With the rallying theme “Wherever You Are, Food Will Find You,” the Feast highlights the power of food to unite, nourish, and restore hope.
In an announcement video posted on her social media pages, Chef Abbys said, “millions wake up each day not knowing where their next meal will come from, not because the world lacks food but because the world needs more compassion, love and serenity. This World Food Day, we’re changing that story.”
With the Big Street Feast, Chef Abbys is not just feeding people but championing a movement as food is more than survival. The event seeks to make sure that everyone can feel the joy of being fed.
Big Street Feast aligns with the global theme Food is our future: Partnerships that Feed the Future, which highlights the need for collaboration to build resilient, food-secure, and sustainable food systems.

Chef Abbys was recently named to the 2025 TIME100 list of the most influential people in the world, recognised for using food as a powerful tool for connection and change. Beyond her celebrated digital media presence and cooking, Chef Abbys leads initiatives that bring people together through shared experiences, proving that food is more than survival; it is love, dignity, and culture.
Potential sponsors and partners can contact Chef Abbys’ Manager, Dede Gedza, on 050 550 9712 for more inquiries. Media partners are Joy Prime, KSS and 3 Extra.
