Corporate organizations have been urged to inculcate physical activities into their staff engagement programs as a way of promoting health, wellbeing, and productivity.
The call was made by the Managing Director of Skynet Express, Stephen Babson, after his outfit organized a friendly football match between field workers and office staff.
He explained that the initiative was designed to give employees a refreshing break from their daily routines.
“Those who know the express business would appreciate the fact that it’s a very stressful endeavor because you’re working to meet customer deadlines. Once in a while, it becomes important to take time off our busy schedules to build team spirit and refresh ourselves especially as Christmas is around the corner when we’ll have quite a busy season.” he noted.
He added that “Part of the reasons behind putting this game together is also to leverage SDG Goal 3, which has to do with health and wellbeing, to keep our staff very healthy.”
Mr. Babson stressed that the wellbeing of workers should be a priority for all organizations, noting that healthy staff are more productive and motivated.
“We want to encourage other companies to embrace sports and physical activities. It’s not just fun—it keeps workers healthy, improves teamwork, and boosts productivity.”
The football game forms part of a series of activities outlined by Skynet Express, with more staff and corporate wellness initiatives expected in the coming months
