The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, has confirmed that investigations under Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) are progressing steadily, as authorities work towards filing charges that meet the strict standards of criminal prosecution.
Speaking to the media on Monday, 22 December, during the Government Accountability Series, Dr Ayine provided an update on the status of the investigations.
“The ORAL investigations are proceeding well, and we continue to beef up initial investigation reports to file charges that meet the standards of proof in criminal trials,” he said.
He emphasised that the focus remains on ensuring that any charges filed are fully supported by credible evidence, in line with the requirements of criminal law. According to him, careful and methodical preparation is essential to securing convictions and maintaining public confidence in the justice system.
Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) is a government-led accountability initiative aimed at investigating alleged corruption, misappropriation, and dissipation of state assets to recover public funds lost through abuse of office or financial misconduct.
The operation focuses on evidence-based investigations to support criminal prosecutions and civil recovery where necessary.
