The Chief Executive Officer of Obuasi Bitters and Head of Aduro Yɛ Herbal Centre, producers of Obuasi Bitters, Obuasi Gringo Bitters, Obuasi 442 Ginger Liquor, and Obuasi Baby Diapers, Dr. Collins Amo, has demonstrated his continued commitment to social responsibility by donating essential items to widows and less privileged persons in Obuasi.
The donation exercise, which also featured free feeding, brought together over 1000 widows and vulnerable individuals, creating a vibrant and meaningful atmosphere.
Each beneficiary received six yards of cloth, a live chicken, and five kilograms of rice, aimed at easing their burden and supporting them ahead of the Christmas festivities.
Addressing participants at the event, Dr. Amo—widely recognized for his philanthropic efforts—described the initiative as a fulfilling way of giving back to society, particularly to the needy and vulnerable during the festive season.
He noted that the gesture was intended to restore hope and put smiles on the faces of beneficiaries through practical and timely support.
Dr. Amo also used the occasion to encourage beneficiaries to adopt sound post-retirement planning, including savings to supplement pension income.

He further appealed to the government to consider reviewing and increasing SSNIT contributions, citing current economic challenges that have heightened the vulnerability of retirees.
“As a company, we are committed to investing in our communities through meaningful corporate social responsibility initiatives. We are not only focused on profits but are equally dedicated to giving back to society,” he emphasised.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Amo, describing the donation as timely and impactful.
“Some of us struggle daily because of our circumstances, but Dr. Amo has always come through for us. We are truly grateful for his continued support,” said Madam Grace Anokyewaa, a beneficiary.
