Global internet personality known globally as "Speed" was formally welcomed with a traditional Akan naming ceremony in Ghana's Eastern Region on Monday.
The event, rich in royal pageantry and deep cultural significance, saw the digital star immersed in ancient customs, culminating in him receiving the local name Barima Kofi Akuffo.

The ceremony, organised by local chiefs and elders, transformed a community grounds into a scene of colorful regalia, rhythmic drumming, and heartfelt celebration.

Subjects and community members gathered in large numbers, ensuring the event's success and creating an unforgettable atmosphere of hospitality.
Dressed in a specially prepared traditional cloth, Speed enthusiastically participated in the proceedings. He was seen dancing joyfully to the fontomfrom drums, a gesture of respect and immersion, and greeting elders and cheering spectators with a wide smile, visibly moved by the warm reception.

The climax of the ceremony was his introduction to the King.
The name Barima Kofi Akuffo carries profound meaning within the Akan culture. "Barima" signifies a brave, strong, and noble man, often translated as "warrior" or "hero."
