The police have arrested Raphael Azare Kariyama for allegedly making inciting comments capable of threatening public peace, particularly in Bawku and its surrounding communities.
His alleged accomplices are currently being sought by the police.
Efforts were ongoing to arrest the other accomplices, a press release issued by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said.
It said the suspect was arrested during an intelligence-led operation to monitor and curb the spread of content inciting violence or threatening public order and national security.
The suspect was in police custody and would be put before court to face the full rigours of the law, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the police urged the public to refrain from making, publishing, or sharing inciteful comments, warning that such acts undermined peace and security.
