Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo had admitted he and his teammates were far from their best in the Champions League game against Real Madrid.
The Premier League side suffered a 3-0 defeat at the Bernabeu in the first leg of their last 16 meeting on Tuesday night, courtesy of a Federico Valverde hat-trick.
Semenyo was only making his debut in the competition after completing a move to City from Bournemouth in January.
Speaking after the game, the Ghanaian highlighted his side's shortcomings in the game while hoping they can turn the tie around.
"Overall, we know we didn't play well. We want to go into Tuesday and change that, so we have to wait till then," he said.
"They are very good in transition, and there were a couple of spaces in the middle of the park, and they exploited that.
"We will just go back to the drawing board and make sure we are up for it. We had our spots where we attacked really well, so hopefully in the home league we can take our chances."
City will look to overturn the three-goal deficit at Etihad next week when they two teams meet once again.
