Ghana’s badminton team achieved its strongest Olympic qualifying result in 64 years, securing four medals at the Badminton Grand Slam 2026 held at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra.
By the end of the thirty-eight-nation competition, Team Ghana won gold, a silver and two bronze medals – the country’s best performance in 64 years.
Moslena Ama Korama Adu and Rachel Quarcoo’s partnership produced gold in the women’s seniors’ doubles in the ten-day tournament which ended on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
The results are the latest in a series of encouraging performances both home and abroad.
In the past year, Ghana’s Badminton teams have won a combined 29 medals across six global tournaments hosted in Ghana. On the continent, Ghana won four medals at the African Youth Games in Angola.
