This is the first time Allies have ever beaten Hearts of Oak - and it was done in style.
A late strike by substitute Goeckel Ahotor was enough for Inter Allies as they beat Hearts of Oak 2-1 in a regional derby on match day 12 of the ongoing First Capital Plus Bank Premier League on Sunday at the Tema sports stadium.

It was a game that both coaches displayed a lot of tactical proficiency but Inter Allies looked more deadly upfront but the defensive men of the Phobians stood tall for the challenge from the home side.
The first half was keenly contested as both sides tamed each other, Inter Allies danger man, Sheriff Deo Mohammed was heavily policed by Hearts of Oak central pair of Vincent Atinga and Philip Boampong but the Phobians also came close the goal area of the home side but their attack was foiled by the Eleven is To One defense led by Baba Mensah.
The first half ended goalless.
From the recess, it was a different story, as Inter Allies dominated the early stages of the second half and in the 66 minute their hard work was positively rewarded as Ropapa Mensah benefited from a miscommunication between Philip Boampong and Tetteh Lugard to slot home the first goal after a long ball from Baba Mensah.
The Phobians after the goal re-strategized as they started picking up the pieces and in the 83 minute mark Isaac Oduro beautifully curled in a 15 yard free-kick to level the scoring for the Phobians.
Two minutes later Hearts of Oak nearly doubled their lead but Osei Kwame in post for Inter Allies saved the situation for the home side.
However, when everybody taught the game was ending in a draw, Goeckel Ahottor who was introduced in the second half struck the winning goal from a 25 yards as Inter Allies held on to beat Hearts of Oak 2-1 which happens to be the first win for the Tema based club over the Phobians.
