Ghana have backed Laryea Kingston in the most emphatic manner by calling up the midfielder for a World Cup qualifier at a time Hearts are vilifying him for his patriotism.
The Ghanaian has been relegated to the reserves after defying the club to play in two internationals at a time Hearts said he was not fit.
The row, which is gradually turning Hearts boss Laszlo Csaba into Ghana football's public number one enemy and eroding Kingston's popularity at Hearts, shows no sign of abating.
Now the Hungarian claims he has no problem with Kingston even though he did not miss an opportunity to re-ignite the club versus country debate.
“Me personally I don't have a problem with Kingston whose contract is in its final year,” Csaba said. “I am happy about every player which can play for his country but that said you cannot say the club is not so important.
“He must also think about his future. You have the possibility to get a new contract. If you don't play football who will take you to Ghana or the World Cup? Nobody,” he added.
Kingston has always disputed that he was unfit to play for Ghana against Sudan and Japan.
He actually came through fifteen minutes of the Sudan game and seventy five minutes in the Japan game.
But that fact has been ignored conveniently in Scotland.
And while Hearts struggle, Kingston will get a chance to prove once again that he is good to play football when the Black Stars travel to Cotonou on October 10.
