Gospel music lovers will be treated to some good and soul-inspiring songs come Saturday, August 2, at the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) when award-winning gospel artiste, Ohemaa Mercy, leads a pack of gospel artistes for a concert dubbed, Tehilla Experience.
The concert, described by the organisers, Ohemaa Mercy Ministries, as a “revolution in the Christendom” is expected to provide the platform for Christians to have a fulfilled “praise and worship time” with their Creator.
Apart from the ‘Wobe Ye Kese’ singer, other artistes such as Francis Amoh, Ceccy Twum, and Joe Mettle who are billed to perform have the responsibility to satisfy the worship needs of patrons who will throng the venue.
Speaking at a press launch held at the Silver Lounge, Accra Mall, Mr. Isaac Twum Ampofo, a member of the organising team, said the event has been designed to give credence to the importance of “praise and worship in the life of a Christian”.
It is very common to have such gospel shows in recent times but Mr. Ampofo described the Tehilla Experience concert as an event designed to fulfil the spiritual needs of people.
He explained that Tehilla means “praise, adoration and thanksgiving” in biblical context and as such, patrons will be led to appreciate the works of God through praise and worship.
Ohemaa Mercy, who lost out on the Best West African Artiste at the Groove Awards held in Kenya recently, told Showbiz she is ready to “lead God’s flock to the grace of throne.”
The 2010 Ghana Music Awards Gospel Artiste of the Year winner who is known for songs such as ‘Thank You’, ‘Obeye Ama Wo’ among others said Christians have for a long time underestimated the significance of worship but was hopeful of its revival.
“This is not just any concert but one that would sow the seed of passion to adore our Creator even in the most difficult times in our lives. Tehilla Experience is one of the means to reach out to many who have lost hope in life,” she stated.
