Ghana has earned two places on the African team that will participate in the prestigious President’s Cup Amateur Boxing Tournament in Uzbekistan which begins on December 8.
Black Bombers Captain, Manyo Plange and commonwealth heavyweight Bronze medalist, Awusone Yekini, were selected based on their performance at the last edition of the African Boxing championship in Mauritius last April.
Manyo a flyweight, won gold and emerged best boxer of the tournament while Yekini won brong in the heavyweight category.
The tournament is also expected to help the boxers prepare for next year’s commonwealth games in India.
Manyo Plange is looking forward to winning medals in Uzbekistan.
