President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra on Friday for Abuja, Nigeria, where he is expected to join other sub-regional heads of state for the inauguration of a facility of the West African Gas Pipeline project. The visit is also to enable him to assess the political situation in Nigeria after last weekend's elections whose results have been bitterly disputed by the opposition.Ghana has contributed 90 million dollars towards the project and expects to benefit from it, especially in the area of energy.
At the airport to see him off were the Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Ministers of state and senior service commanders.Source: GNA
