A man who purchased one of the auctioned vehicles in the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly is threatening legal action if the Assembly goes ahead to nullify the auction process.
Kweku Dua told Joy News he followed all the due process in procuring the vehicle and will not let it go without a fight.
The TMA has hinted a nullification of the auction after irate NDC youth in the area scuttled the process, claiming the TMA officials circumvented the process to sell the vehicles to their cronies.
They subsequently seized two of the vehicles and will only return them if the TMA announces a nullification of the entire process.
The police called a meeting with the ring leaders of the protesting youth for an amicable settlement but the meeting ended up in a stalemate because the youth were not prepared to see the face of the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Alhaji Friday.
The demands of the youth appear to have held sway with the TMA announcing a nullification of the auction process.
But Kweku Dua explains that he followed the due process in buying the vehicle and will not return it.
“After the advertisement and we have come to buy, how can they re-auction it,” he quizzed.
He said he has not been given any official notification of a re-auction but will proceed to court if it comes.
