Dauda Mohammed has attributed his conversion form to his determination and hard work but says winning the 2015/16 goal king is not his immediate priority.
The young marksman missed the opening two premier league games, but returned to score in Kotoko’s 3-1 win over Liberty Professionals and against Dreams FC.
His scored a brace on Sunday as Kotoko walloped Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs by 3-0 in Kumasi. He didn’t score against Hearts last week, but his incessant pressure on Hearts’ goalie Soulama Abdoulaye led to the Burkinabe national goalkeeper redirecting a clearance into his own net.
Asked where he was taking his inspiration from, Dauda Mohammed said he was determined to keep scoring for Kotoko and was working tirelessly to make that a reality. “It is all through determination and hard work”, he said.
“It was difficult for me at the beginning of the season because of injuries. Now I’m back and fully fit. I’m going to work hard to keep scoring. I will do my best to help and if in the end, I win the goal king award, then it’s good”.
Dauda Mohammed has four goals in this season and his scoring rate of an average of a goal per match, his current form and ability to get to the chances, means he could score more.
