This year’s event which happens to be the second edition will have Twelve communities to competing.
“After a successful maiden edition last year we had calls from some of the communities about the number of participating teams so we decided to increase it to twelve this year,” Said Tamimu Issah, organizer of the Ramadan Cup
“The purpose of this event is to foster unity and with this year been an election year we believe this is our own way of promoting peace ahead of the polls.
“This year, what we have decided to do is that, aside whatever we are going to give the winner, we will also go to their community to do something tangible there, we will identify what is lacking there and help them.”
Shukura, Nsawam Zongo and Maamobi are the three new communities joining Nima, Madina, Darkuman and New Town. The other communities are New Fadama, Tudu, Sabon Zongo, Alajo and Ashiaman.
